Halo --- Skin Serum 3 years anniversary -- COngrats

This blog has been around for 3 years. I always forgot there are many new readers to my blog. The numbers of readers are increasing tremendously everyday. Its nice to know people from all walks of lifes :)

To all new readers:
I started off with the creations of the 3 oil combination for anti bodyache using Lavendula Vera, Peppermint and Petitgrain/Majoram with cream in 1999. Followed by two very popular skin care products, which are also well known as Antiage Serum and Skin Vita Serum.

Skin serum sold in neighbourhood beauty salons can cost between $180 to $200 a bottle. Personally, I think it is a bit overpriced. Tea -- Drink Smart -- Health till OLD age and free from dental problems

Pu'erh tea is one of the oldest type of tea in China with a rich history of over 1700 years that can be traced back to the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220 AD). During it's height of popularity Pu-erh tea was freely traded and even used as money for the bartering of goods. Premium Pu-erh tea was offered as a tribute tea to the Emperor of China and to this day Pu-erh tea remains a highly valuable commodity. Pu'erh tea is revered in China as a traditional medicinal tea with many health benefits. It is regarded by tea connoisseurs as the King of Tea for it's unique flavor and aroma.

Pu'erh tea made from wild old tea trees are reputed to be more potent, containing strong Qi (translated as "life energy" or "life force") that boosts the blood flow and helps the body's circulation. This as a result aids the removal of toxins and can cure minor aches and pains.

One should not drink too much green tea as it is too cooling and may "injured" your body. You can still drink but about half a cup before noon. Pu'erh is a good tea to drink but good Pu'erh tea is difficult to find. I remembered about few years ago, Pu'erh tea is like shares where many people invest in it and one of them is me :p Hahahahaa

As shown in the picture, from your left is Pu'erh tea in 2004, which is now worth few hundreds dollars. On the right, is Pu'erh tea which I will encourage you to get and drink because it is from big old ancient trees and specially harvest and packed by masters in 2007.

For this good quality, it costs about $150 in the market. The GOOD NEWS is, I got this from the lady boss of Kimsherbshop at $88. You can drink now or keep well in cool place for years.

Another piece of GOOD NEWS is, I have decided to use the one of 2004 in my "Tea Art Appreciation and Healing Breathing Exercise" on 28 Aug 2010 for all my students to taste.
Old Pu'erh tea is good for health and near zero caffein. Good for slimming and beauty.

Beauty Tea

As illustrated in the picture, this is a tea recipe using 七叶胆 (福音草）and 桂花.
It helps to lower blood pressure, sore throat, cough , antioxidant for beauty and stomach weakness.

Half tea spoon of 福音草 and a teaspoon of 桂花 in 400ml boiling water. Seep for 6 mins. Drink once a day.

The ingredients can be found in shops selling tea or in Chinatown area.

I was invited as one of the favourite speaker for "Good Morning Singapore" today, and was requested to perform a demo on stage. I didn't know there will be so many well known VIPs and 200 people coming for this event. You can imagine how nervous I was, to be seated with all the VIPs.

There was only one thing that came to my mind when I was on stage - Gratitude 感恩. Many people came up to me, telling me they read my articles, like my soup recipes. I really didn't expect all this. My work has received further recognition. I don't know how to express my feelings...but I am really grateful to GOD, all the people whom I met in my course of work, and all my helpers who have volunteered their precious time to help me all these years. Bryan is very fortunate to have met so many nice people who have showered me with kindness. Without all of you, I wouldn't have come so far.

I am tied down with my routine work, writing ariticles, seminars and projects everyday. Never have time to think how far I can go. I only hope I can continue to share and share with more people. Now, my wish is for people who have learnt some health or beauty tips from me and find it useful, to share with people around them. Only then, more people can benefit.

Do not forget our roots

It is important to know your roots as a Chinese. Certain cultures and traditions should be carried on, so that our next generation will have a better future.

Have you ever wonder more and more of the younger generations are more self-centered and do not really take care the feelings of others. You can change this behaviour if you start to cultivate some Chinese arts into their lifes. With this little effort, your kids will grow up to be a nice nice adult.

Today, let me share with you one of our great ancestors, Shénnóng 神农. Shénnóng was an Emperor of China 5,000 years ago. He was also known as the Emperor of the Five Grains, 五谷先帝.

Shénnóng is said to have helped people transition from a diet of meat, clams, and wild fruits, to one based on grains and vegetables, and for developing herbal medicine. He is recognized for tasting hundreds of herbs-on one day, more than 70 herbs that had medicinal value-selecting those that were suitable as remedies, and describing their properties. As a result of his efforts, numerous herbs became routinely used for health care, and the knowledge was handed down by oral tradition for centuries. When these herbs were described in a formal manner, the book was named after Shénnóng, known today as the Shénnóng běncǎo jīng 神农本草经.

Shénnóng is most commonly credited with the discovery of tea. According to the Chinese legend, one day when water was being boiled for the emporer, dry leaves fell off a camellia sinensis plant into the pot. Shénnóng, being a curious man in the medicinal uses of plants, decided to taste the brew. Apparently, he found the infusion very refreshing and had a delightful flavor. He declared that tea gives vigor to the body. That was when tea was invented, but it was considered as a medicinal beverage rather then a daily refreshment. It was around 300 A.D. when, tea became a daily drink. The use of tea for medicinal purposes continued for centuries, and tea was believed to treat a wide number of conditions, including poisoning.

Thanks to Shénnóng and many generations of herb doctors that followed him, as well as the input from modern research, we do not have to fear trying out the herbs, experiencing highly toxic ones, as Shénnóng did. The steps of tasting each herb and experiencing its effects are important, especially when there are so many species of herbs.

My professor told me a lot of fruits have a lot of chemicals now. See my little grape covered by layer of white things. Although they said this is ok, but I don't feel safe taking it daily. The only way to detox myself is to drink some tea daily. Tea Tasting can be very fun and cool. Start now :D

Wow Wow Soup

I know most of us are very busy people. However, no matter how busy you are, you ought to make yourself a simple soup to drink. This weather will cause skin to be dry and dull. You need to take something internally to nourish your 5 organs, so as to remove the dampness trapped in the body.

I went to the wet market this morning to buy the followings:

A)Winter Melon : rich in proteins, minerals , vitamins, 其中元素硒还具有抗癌等多种功能(anti cancer compound)----($1.50)

B) White flat bean ( 白扁豆）：健脾化湿，和中消暑。用于脾胃虚弱，食欲不振，大便溏泻，白带过多，暑湿吐泻，胸闷腹胀。nourish stomach, weak stomach, bloated stomach. (50gram)

C) 1 kampong chicken (Optional. You can also add the type of meat you preferred or not to add any meat at all)

D) Fish sauce to taste.

Procedures:

Remove seeds, skin from the wintermelon. Cut to pieces. Put all the ingredients into 2 litres of water. Boil for 40mins.

Tips: All chicken bought from market must run through boiling water once, to remove unwanted dirt. Thereafter, you can add them in water to boil with other ingredients. This will further enhance the taste of your soup.

Anti Headaches Tea

Here's a good tea recipe for Anti Headache.

8 pieces of Chrysanthemum and 15 gram of Ge Geng. You can easily get them from medical hall. Tell the store assistant that you need $1.

Add 15gram of Ge Geng into 500ml of water to boil for 20mins. Turn off the fire and add Chrysanthemum. Seep for 15mins.

A FAST REMEDY for headaches and neckaches. In future, when you experienced first trigger of headaches, try this tea before popping down panadols. It works wonder for me. My headache subsided within 30 mins after I drank it :p

Reseach Part A --- 14 days to clear forehead -- Challenge

Mdm Ang sent me a picture of her son's forehead. The boy has tried numerous creams but there are still a lot of black and white heads. I advised her to get the new Tea Tree Blue Tansy Facial Cleanser for her son. Works well for him after a week :)

What you see in this picture could be caused by weather, tiredness, sleep late, stress and no proper facial cleansing.

It looked more like clogged pores and some bacteria infection. He is now better.

Bryan's Treatment method for acnes and badly clogged pores:

CLEANSER is important; A good cleanser enables skin to be radiant and cleansed.

You may be wondering which cleanser to use, Astiquer Antiage cleanser or Tea Tree Blue Tansy facial cleanser?

I will say have both of them :P Does that mean you are spending more? Nope because two bottles will take longer time to complete. I alternate between the two bottles but its really up to individual to experience and decide for themselves. You will know your skin condition, whether is it more prone to clogged pores or sometimes due to the heavy make up or environment, you just need something that can help to remove dirt, impurities and makeup without stripping off the natural moisture from the skin.

I will use the Astiquer Antiage cleanser during the day and Tea Tree Blue Tansy facial cleanser at night.

For people below 25 years old, Tea Tree Blue Tansy facial cleanser is good enough. Not necessary to use the Astiquer Antiage cleanser.

I know of a skin doctor who always tell me a good skin should have a hydrating cleanser and a purifying cleanser. However, if you want to invest in only one cleanser first, kick off with Antiage cleanser first ya :)

Extra steps if needed.

A) Facial Steaming with Lavendula Vera once a week.

B) Followed by Green clay powder mask for 15mins (once a week)

C) Apply cold Lavendula Vera flora water, dap on forehead

D) Moisturise the skin with Aloe vera gel from Kimsherbshop (http://kimherbshop.blogspot.com/)

Dap Tea Tree oil onto a piece of facial cotton pad, and apply on acne spot consecutively for 3 days(but not more then 3 days). Followed by Aloe vera gel. This will help to kill the germs and hydrate skin at the same time.

Rashes and Itch --- SHort Notice

Our weather, our air conditioned room, the hot waves and the food we eat may result in rashes and hives this few days. I have been observing the five elements of our weather. Our body system may suffer from skin rashes.

Remedies can be found in my older posts. At the right hand column, look out for the label "Eczema/Rashes/Hives". You will find many useful tips there. Drinking barley water helps and avoid watermelon juice although it feels most wonderful to have a glass of watermelon juice in this hot hot weather :p It may weaken the body system and results more problems.

We are always so busy and we forget the purpose in life. We are always worrying for others but forget to take care of our inner child. Do you know many problems will be resolved naturally if you take good care of yourself and love yourself.

Inner child: It is present in everyone, but is your inner child deprived from love and feeling upset now ?

Easier to say then done. I know its never easy to do the actual thing. BUT if you do not make an effort to love yourself and give yourself some time to relax, you will never.

Everyone made poor choices before or done something in the past that could possibly be labelled as "regrettable." Think about it again. The fact that you are now able to look back and realized that a mistake or mis-step occurred means you have learned a valuable lesson. Some of my choices may have landed me in unpleasant circumstances, but experiencing these things certainly built my current character. I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for those character-building situations. Mistakes are stepping stones to an evolving life. There's no need for you to sink into regret or despair -- keep your chin up

Bryan smiles a lot, which caused deep laugh lines.
Bryan also swim a lot, which resulted in clot pores caused by sunblock. All the TV recordings under the sun led to dull skin. Laugh lines were pretty obvious in December due to my hectic work schedule. Outbreaks occured as a results from testing of some skin care products in the market for magazine reviews.

Hmm. Therefore, I decided to spend a month to detox and improve my skin texture! I tested out my new skin care products.

The picture below is a good illustration of my skin after using Renewal Flora Facial Scrub, Raffael Tea Tree Facial Cleanser, Serum and Wrinkle Recovery Gel a month later.


As you can see from this picture, lines were significantly reduced. Skin is much smoother with refined pores. Wrinkles become less visible. This is not botox ya.
If botox, the lines will completely disappear.
