Take for granted

"We take things for granted". Sounds familiar isn't it? We hear this almost everyday but how many people actually contemplate on it.

I did this morning. As I ate my sunshine bread, a sudden thought came to my mind. This bread does not come by easily.

Bread, a simple common food that we get to eat everyday. Some people do not fancy the bread skin, they slice it away....some people simply threw away their bread when they cannot finish it. Such small gestures are as easy as ABC. Little did these people realised how much effort and hardwork was put in for each and every grain of wheat. From the farmer, the packer, transportation and finally mum, who bought the bread for the family.

When I think of this, my heart felt the warmth of gratitude and joy. I truely appreciate what I am eating. Hmmm....perhaps you are too overwhelmed with stress, despicable people in office and illness pain now. Step back and take a look. Life is so nice. Let Go and Let God. I meant this from the bottom of my heart.

Case Study A

Eddie (real name) has neck pain for 2 months. Tried pain killers and acupuncture, but the recovery progress is slow.

Moxibustion:

How does moxibustion works in terms of modern science? A simple illustration is, meridians are like optical fibers that transmit infrared radiation.

Fudan University conducted an experiment on meridians and found the following: A high transparency (76 percent) at a wavelength of 2.66 microns has been measured along the axis direction of the collagenous fiber at the Gallbladder meridian on one lower limb in a human body. Along the fiber axis of the Stomach meridian, the transparency is 62 percent at wavelengths of 9-20 microns. The transparency vertical to the axis is 0.4 percent.

There is a difference in transparency of more than 240 times between infrared light along the axis and infrared light vertical to the axis of the meridians.

The most interesting thing I have found out about moxibustion is, although it uses heat, it cools down the problem area. As such the healing mechanism of moxibustion is the same as needle acupuncture. It is through "Qi" where moxibustion does the work, not the direct incoherent heat which we tends to associate with burning.

Some could be spending $95 for a bottle of Rose Geranium in other retail outlets because of high space rental. Every bottle of oil sold in shopping mall will need to deduct 40%.

Once an aromatherapist questioned me, is it worth the effort to FedEx oil and earn very very very little from each bottle of aroma oil. I research for the best oil every now and then. All my oil are from different parts of the world. He suggested that I should get xxx country oil which is cheaper.

I cannot believe such remarks can come from a therapist. It is really as insult to the code of Practice for aromatherapy. How can I as an aromatherapist prescribe poor grade oil to someone who are stressed, or ill? I find this really absurd and unethical. Hope he does not mean what he said.

Another concerning factor is the increasing freight charges. This could discouraged good quality oil from coming in. Price for grade AAA Tea Tree oil increased 40% last year. I was shocked when I saw the increased in price. Hope one day the CEO of FedEx will become my friend and help me out :p Hhmmmm... let me activate my Gui ren bag.

Thanks to the anonymous who suggested adding Luo Han Guo to the previous herbal tea. Just to share with you. You can't do that for this tea. Every tea has Yin and Yang. I suggested this tea so that it will not be too cooling. Adding One Luo Han Guo will adjust the Yin and Yang effectiveness of the tea and become too cooling. Hope you don't mind, just to share ok :) All of us learnt from each other, share share knowledge :D
Thus, for this tea, do not add any other herbs yeah :) Otherwise, it will not work.

So happy to see many people benefit from Rice Bran Oil. It has really helped in many skin problem.

To all my Dearest Part 1 Student-- Power Sore throat fighter tea

Drinking the wrong cooling herbal tea is not going to cure sore throat. One must drink the correct type so as to tackle the problem :)

Let me share with you one power drink recipe which mum will make for me, when I have sore throat. This recipe had been shared with many of my friends and students, who had very painful throat and they find it very helpful. Its effectiveness is beyond my description and has zero side effects :D

Ingredients required for this power drink cost less than $2 and it works Wonders on painful sore throat. Snap a picture of the herbs with your hand phone. Show it to the medical hall. They should know.

Tell them $2 of the ingredients is all that you need. Boil everything for 20 minutes with 800ml water. Drink 2 cups slowly. First cup during the day and the second cup in the evening. I usually feel better with just one cup 2 hours later. I will followed by applying Lavendula vera oil and Tea Tree oil direct at throat area.

Ingredients are 2 乌梅，25 to 30 pieces of 千层纸，3 竹峰 and 3 甘草.

Power remedy for flu, cough & sinus:

Students, do you remember what I taught on using Lavendula vera oil, Eucalyptus oil onto tissue and rub against your upper back, followed by using a hair dryer to blow upper back.

I think its worth mentioning again because many who tried this method, feedback to me that its very effective. Some who used to have flu monthly, has not had a single flu since last year.

Let me introduce to you a tea that I will drink 3 times a week. One pot for the whole family. One slice of 党生，北芪。 Use scissor and cut to small slices. Boil with 800ml or 500ml water for 20mins. Drink a cup. I normally drink on 1,3, 7 of the week.

My feel:

Students who have attended Bryan's workshops will know that I like to share a lot than what is expected for the workshops.

A lot of health workshops in the market revolved on one topic, so they can give you very direct notes. Whereas for me, I like to present the latest findings and provide you with informations that is relevant and practical to you. I wanna make sure my students are attending a fun session with easy to learn methods, not another lecture with thick notes. I focus more on techniques which is difficult for me to put into words on papers. Of course, there are times where I will throw in a few extra tips during the workshops. This is where you will need to take your own notes :p

Hope you can pardon me if I am unable to furnish you with a very professional set of notes that is of perfect grammars. Nevertheless, you can trust Bryan to give you professional healing methods with my passion and sincerity. As the saying goes, "Actions speak louder then words"
