Rice Bran cooking Oil

Ricebran cooking oil

Also known as the 'Heart Oil' in Japan. It had acquired the status of a health food in the western countries and is sold as the "world's healthiest" oil in the U.S.A.

My friend give me a bottle of rice bran oil for cooking from Japan. I wondered is it available in NTUC or Cold Storage. Can anyone help me to find out and post your findings in this blog to let us know? Scouting around for good stuff is one thing that I enjoyed doing but I have a few seminars these few days so not much time for me to go round and check :(

Earlier on, I mentioned on FM 97.2 about the benefits of rice bran oil. Research has been done at reputable national and international institutions. The findings revealed that Rice Bran Oil not only has a good balance of saturated, monounsaturated & polyunsaturated fats, but also a rich source of micronutrients and natural antioxidants such as Oryzanol, Tocopherol, Tocotrienol and Squalene, which is also known to provide many benefits for human health, besides lowering cholesterol.
I will introduce rice bran oil for skin shortly in my blog. Please take note that there are 2 types of rice bran oil. One type for cooking and the other type is meant for skin. Don't get mixed up and use the cooking type of rice bran oil for skin! No no nooo......
