What is Knee Osteoarthritis (OA)

The name ‘osteoarthritis’, a Greek word, can be divided in ‘osteo’, ‘arthro’ and ‘it is’. Thus, simply put, we can say that osteoarthritis is an inflammation of the bone and joint. Knee Osteoarthritis (OA) is very common in aging Singapore. It affects more than 50% of people above 65 years old. It also affects more women than men.

How do I know if I have Knee OA

Common signs of knee OA is pain. When mild, pain can be on and off, or only with stairs/squat. In more severe cases, you may experience pain with just standing or walking. Some people may also notice the knee joint become larger, swelling, feel stiffness in the joint or unable to fully bend/straighten the knee.

If you are >50 years old, notice cracking sound when you move the knee and experience some knee pain during your daily life, it is likely that you have knee OA.

When you visit a doctor, X-ray will be taken to diagnose knee OA. (can claim from insurance to do Xray)

How do I manage Knee OA
The traditional management of Knee OA is through painkillers. However, it may cause stomach discomfort. Other standard management includes wearing knee guard and physiotherapy. However, it may not work for some people and the effects come slower.

I do suggest to learn to eat heathy and proper posture and stretch daily that can ask ur physion what to do combine with some oil.

A more modern approach will be to use advance technology to provide an effective solution.
Radiofrequency is a form of non-invasive treatment that utilizes radio-frequency energy to help activate cell metabolism, increase blood circulation and internal temperature of targeted tissue. It is very comfortable and has no down time. Meaning you can go back straight to work or daily routines after treatment.

It is important to manage your knee OA early so that it does not become worse. The longer it affects you, the slower and harder to recover from it.

Also taking some supplements for knee issues can help alot.
